Mavis Small Abednego is a former educator with over 28 years of experience. She attended the University of the Virgin Islands, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. She then went on to earn a Master of Science in Reading Education from Lehman College, City University of New York. She has taught language arts, literature, and communication studies at secondary and tertiary levels.

She now has the privilege of being a part of the Green VI team and exploring the integration of environmental consciousness with the curriculum.
